The massive adventure god of War Ragnarok has a tonne of ancillary content. But how long will you have to spend on this adventure? Learn more inside about How Much Time Does It Take to Complete God of War Ragnarok?
One of the major marquee games for 2022 is God of War Ragnarok. The anticipation for the upcoming chapter in Kratos’ book has been growing, and thus far, the fan response has largely been one of joy. And with good cause. If you enjoyed God of War from 2018, this sequel does many of the same things but on a much larger scale.
The other worlds in God of War 2018 were much more linear in comparison, even though The Lake of Nine served as a hub where you could partake in a wide variety of side activities. Ragnarok, however, cannot be said to be the same. Now, there are many places in the various worlds that resemble the Lake of Nine. The size of the side activities has also significantly grown. There is obviously a lot of game going on here. So, the obvious question is, “How Much Time Does It Take to Complete God of War Ragnarok?”
How Much Time Does It Take to Complete God of War Ragnarok?

The average completion time for God of War Ragnarok’s story mode, according to the data provided by HowLongToBeat, is just one minute short of 23 hours.
These times do not, however, indicate the level of difficulty at which these players finished the game. A player who completes the game on Give Me No Mercy is likely to spend hours more on difficult combat encounters than players who play on Give Me Story. Accordingly, you can safely cut an hour or two from the game’s length if you play on one of the easier difficulty settings, while those who play on a harder setting will almost certainly add an additional hour or two.
The average completion time for those who finished the story while also finishing a number of the side tasks was 31 hours and 22 minutes, or about eight hours longer. This is probably a better representation of the kind of playthrough the typical gamer will have. Naturally, the same warning about how difficulty significantly affects completion time will also apply here.
How much time does it take to finish everything?

This is a huge game, as we mentioned in the introduction. Ragnarok actively encourages players to completely lose themselves in its worlds, and there are a tonne of side activities to partake in. The fact that the average completionist time of 45 hours and 52 minutes is nearly twice as long as the completion time for players who simply follow the main path shouldn’t come as a surprise.
It is also important to keep in mind that this figure is only based on the accounts of 22 players at this time, who undoubtedly worked hard to achieve that 100% completion (the game has only been available for a week as of the time of writing). We wouldn’t be surprised if the average time gradually increased to the estimated “leisurely” playthrough completion time that is currently listed. In the end, we can promise you one thing. You will need days of your life if you want to see everything that Ragnarok has to offer. And for that, we salute you!
