Beautiful Desolation was released in 2020 by The Brotherhood, the South African studio behind the critically acclaimed sci-fi horror adventure game Stasis. Beautiful Desolation is an isometric point-and-click adventure set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic “tribal punk” landscape filled with giant scorpions, rocket-blasting robots, and nanite swarms.

You’re on a personal mission to find your brother while also making decisions that will shape the future of the land. It features stunning artwork and a soundtrack by Mick Gordon.

Beautiful Desolation, a 2D isometric adventure game from The Brotherhood, is currently available for free on GOG. Users of the DRM-free storefront have until Monday, June 20 to claim a free copy of the Kickstarter-funded game, which is set in a post-apocalyptic future and follows Mark, a “man out of time” on a quest to find his lost brother. The game’s deluxe edition, which includes a poster, wallpapers, an artbook, and an MP3 soundtrack, is also on sale for $9.17 as part of GOG’s summer sale, which runs until June 27.

Negotiate your passage with local leaders, healers, and warriors, or you’ll find yourself fighting nanite swarms, massive scorpions, and rocket-equipped robots.

This strange new world holds a multitude of terrains to uncover, beautifully rendered in 2D isometric art, from thriving villages to crumbling cities, petrified forests, and bone-dry ocean beds.
